Everything you need to know  to get started with BMX!

Riding Gear 

You MUST have the following to be able to ride at club events

  • Helmet 
  • Long Sleeve Shirt
  • Gloves
  • Long Pants 
  • Closed in shoes 

Loan Items

The club has Helmets and Gloves for loan if you need them, they work on first in basis. Please note that items may not be available due to COVID-19 please check in with the canteen if you need items. 

Bikes 

The club as loan bikes if your child would like to use them to see if they would like to join the sport. The bikes are for loan if you need them, they work on first in basis. Please note that items may not be available due to COVID-19 please check in with the canteen if you need items.  

You dont need anything flash to start out, just a standard bmx bike is fine. You just need to make sure your bike doenst have the following items when at a club event 

  • Stunt Pegs 
  • Stand

Your bike will need a plate with numbers, these can be purchased at the canteen or via the shop here on our website. See bottom of the page for a downloadable document for information about colours etc. A transponder will also need to be purchased if you are in 11+ age groups for scoring, these also can be purchased at the canteen or shop.

Auscycle 

Auscyle is our governing body, we are affliated with them and abide by their rulings as well as our own consitution. Our club must follow these rules to see all policies please CLICK HERE  

Each rider will need an Auscycle Membership for full details visit their site Auscycling and or see downloadable document for membership details. 

Apps

There are a few different apps that are used in BMX they are used for nomination and event details:

  • Mysqorz 

Club Canteen 

Club canteen is run by Volunteers and is co-ordinated by the BMX Committee. The Canteen is open for Club Racing. It maybe open for training sessions depending on volunteers. If you would like to volunteer for duties please talk to the committee, you will need to have a volunteer membership with the club and Auscyle and a Blue Card. 

We offer hot food on racing nights and are open to suggestions for menu items. 

Feedback

The Committee welcomes all feedback good and bad, if we dont know we cant address any issues. Please see the bottom of the page for a downloadable Incident form. Please email the form to toowoombabmxclub@gmail.com or hand to one of the committee members to present at the Committee Meetings held every 6 weeks.
